GUILD PRAYER

God our Father, source of life and freedom, through Your Holy Spirit you gave the Carmelite, Titus Brandsma the courage to affirm human dignity even in the midst of suffering and degrading persecution.

Grant us that same spirit so that, in refusing all compromise with error we may always and everywhere give coherent witness to Your abiding presence among us.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

Members of The Guild of Blessed Titus Brandsma are Catholic bloggers and users of the new media who seek to share their faith online. We are inspired by the vision of the New Evangelisation called for by successive Popes.

"Thanks to the new communications media, the Lord can walk the streets of our cities and, stopping before the threshold of our homes and our hearts, say once more: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me” (Rev 3:20)" Pope Benedict XVI's Message for the 44th World Communications Day.

We pray that all who visit this site may be filled with every Heavenly grace and blessing as well as that peace of the Risen Christ which is beyond all human understanding.

Contributions to this blog are made by men and women who are members of a Guild for Catholic bloggers under the patronage of Blessed Titus Brandsma. Contributors are loyal to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and to the Successor of St Peter. The Guild of Blessed Titus Brandsma blog aims to raise the profile of the Catholic Faith as well as to inform, inspire and educate the laity and evangelise the United Kingdom. Contributors will write on a range of subjects including theology, liturgy, canon law and apologetics.

I’ve encountered many people these days struggling with depression and anxiety. These are normal, healthy reactions to the upheaval of their world. What is not healthy is to become anxious about being anxious or to be become depressed about being depressed. The difference is one healthy mental vitamin A - ACCEPTANCE. It’s ok that you feel bad. That’s alright. Don’t worry about being worried. It’s normal to feel like you’re going a little crazy when the world is going a little crazy. That’s why we need to stop, drop, and pray. Prayer is founded on ACCEPTANCE. Mary said, “Fiat” or “Let it be done unto me according to Thy Word.” Jesus taught us how to pray, “Thy Will be done”. When you accept reality the way it is you also are able to accept yourself for being the way you are and find it ok to be not ok. God is with you when you’re not ok and that’s why EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK. I invite you. Right now. Stop. Pray. Take one moment to acknowledge that God, who is infinite Love and Mercy, Loves you right exactly where you are right now. Allow God to be with you and give you peace and acceptance. Then get up and choose joy. Choose joy not because it’s all figured out, but because God is with you now and he’s going to help you get through this. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27 - via Instagram https://ift.tt/2y79W5u
