At some point in my life I hope to get a dog (I spend most of my time right now caring for my 94 year-old mother), and I expect that my dog and I would have a "meaningful relationship." If the state would give me some type of tax benefit (or a discount on dog food) for registering my meaningful relationship, perhaps I'd move back to Illinois. I wonder if the courts would extend that to also include the "pet rock" someone once gave me?I grew up in Blue Island, Illinois. Sounds like the legislators haven't changed a bit.
