Faith is like a Plant

Faith is like a plant. If we do not sprinkle water over it, with prayer, shine Christ's light on it, with Confession, feed it, with the Body and Blood of Christ, then it will wither and die, only to be crushed by the weeds of sin. If we give Faith what it needs to live, with prayer and the Sacraments, then it will thrive and live.
