It should be corrected to what he actually said ("I didn't know that.") or taken down. See links below, especially the third one, which includes a timeline. The quote in bold is misleading. The pope did not say the words in quotes attributed to him. The fact that the "underlying article" notes the confusion does not correct the false impression created by the false "quotation."

http://www.onepeterfive.com/pope-francis-on-communist-crucifix-it-wasnt-an-offense/

http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2015/07/for-record-pope-francis-personally.html

http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2015/07/for-record-pope-francis-personally.html

http://www.onepeterfive.com/why-did-catholic-media-get-the-commie-crucifix-story-wrong/

ATWAdministratorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04316110629996426268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2011391723338869451.post-90863044415927813972015-07-15T18:17:57.268+01:002015-07-15T18:17:57.268+01:00The underlying article notes the confusion between...The underlying article notes the confusion between "That's not right" and "I didn't know that." The videotape is muddled. The PR spokesman must be mindful of diplomatic nicities. However, what is enigmatic is Pope Francis' actions towards the commie crucifixDC Calamityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00410579037445829658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2011391723338869451.post-82089540183508407502015-07-12T18:47:21.877+01:002015-07-12T18:47:21.877+01:00I think he should ask himself why Mr. Morales woul...I think he should ask himself why Mr. Morales would think he would be receptive. He has Marxists in high Church positions and as advisors and "obsessed" about the material needs of the poor and environment (green is the new red) more, it seems, than the eternal destination of souls or even the Christian communities' different flights in the west and in the east. It sounds like this book by Douglas J Roche, called "The Catholic Revolution", in which the author pauses the crazy experimentation and making the Church an institution of social work, while demeaning its divine purpose of leading souls to Heaven. psieve2https://www.blogger.com/profile/06936845941099262693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2011391723338869451.post-78406208896868792012015-07-12T11:40:17.028+01:002015-07-12T11:40:17.028+01:00from the National Catholic Reporter:
